TiLT - 33

Happy Thursday Readers!

Hope you've all had a good week.
Mine's been ok.

Things I'm loving this thursday are:
- My close friends. The ones who I can rely on no matter what. I'm spoilt to have them all, I really am.
- My two dogs, two fish and snail. I love them all also. They're good to me and make me intensely happy.
- Getting back into the routine of going to the gym! I haven't been to the gym since late May, and then my month's memebership thing expired and then uni got insanely busy and then my life in general got insanely busy so I sort of lost track and stopped going. I'm glad to be going again. I enjoy the gym. I like being able to go there and excercise and whatnot. Makes me feel good.
- Phoenix. I've mentioned them before and I'll say it again - I'm obsessed and they're so great to listen to. Aaaah I love music so much.
- MY NEW DRESS. Rachtwin made me a dress yesterday, as a 7 month late birthday present! I love it. It's a tank dress and is black and aqua and aweeesome. It cute and fits like a dream. Love it. Thankyou Rachel!
- Sharing my taste in music with my twin. I have her 2gb of my music the other day. Made me feel good to be able to share my music and have her genuinely like it. It's exciting.
- Honourable mentions: colourful gel pens, being home alone, banana smoothies, making lists and checking things off and drinking lots of water. Water is good.
- Music I've been listening to this week: Phoenix, Guillemots, Cloud Control, Late of the Pier, An horse, Julia Nunes, Say Anything, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Kisschasy, Whitest Boy Alive, Tokyo Police Club and Ladyhawke. Man I like ALOT of music.

I think that's pretty much it really. I've got alot going on both in my actual life and in my mind right now. Uni to sort out... Need to find a job... Need to empty my computer (I've filled my 140gb internal hard drive! ANNOYING)... and sort myself out in general really.

Happy Thursday!

Master Chef.

Hello readers!

Today's motto is: When all else fails, bake!
Which is exactly what I did tonight. I've always enjoyed cooking but my recent obsession with Master Chef has spurred me along a bit. Tonight I made black cherry and blackberry puff pastry parsels... just sorta made it up as I went along. I even made custard and dusted the puffs with icing sugar! So tasty (pictured above). Matt preston would have loved them, haha.
I like to cook when I've got the time, so I made time tonight. Mum's proud, cos I can cook so she knows when I eventually move out I won't starve to death, haha.

In other news, I bought some new friends for my fish Reginald on the weekend (pictured above). I bought a new little fantail goldfish, and named him Hugo. He's only about 3cm long haha. Poor Hugo is like a third of the size of Reginald so Reginald likes to push him around a bit. I also bought a sea snail to help clean my tank, which I've named Sidney... maybe one day I'll get a whole tank of fish and name each one after a character from Skins, haha.

Well that's pretty much it for now.
Hope you're all enjoying the week thus far!

TiLT - 32 (Yet again, not actually on a thursday)

Dear Readers,

So another week has rolled by and here we are again, sitting home on a friday night. I was baby sitting til 11pm but never fear, I'm home in my pjs now, all is right in the world.

So, my favourite things from the past week include:

- Power House markets on a saturday morning! Great company in the form of my cousin who I don't see often enough, great fresh food and good coffee... not to mention great weather! perfect way to start the weekend.
- Going out drinking on a saturday night with some of my favourite people (even though I'm broke!). $10 jugs at the Embassy are made of win! Had a good night, twas good to catch up with some of my fave people :)
- Saturday night, as mentioned above, was epic but in a random way. Stayed the night at the twin's, on the couch, twas good even though it was super cold. Spent sunday with the twin and the boy lounging around and eating Maccas. Gold.
- Monday - a catch up day with my Jade and having her do my hair whilst we ate great food and watched Charmed. I'm spoilt.
- Tuesday was Alison's birthday, a great night was had. Three of my favourite people, really tasty food and Scrabble, what more could I want?!
- Wednesday at Alma Park Zoo with my boy. Great day out. Zoo animals, perfect weather and great company. Bliss.
- Thursday at the dog park with Caitey and our bossy dogs. Zerren and Indie acted like they owned the place. Slightly embarrassing but hey, our dogs could kick your dog's butt any day.
- Finally got my RSA today! I can work in a bar or be a waitress now, woo!
- Special mentions: Drinking lots of water, purple nail polish that matches fruit tingles (the drink kind), crisp apples, new music, four hour long chats on facebook with a lovely friend who's in a far away land, my pjs, my lovely dogs, my many, many cameras, compliments from everyone about my new hair cut and colour, insightful conversations with close friends whom I'm very lucky to have, realising I can change things if I want to, red hair dye, bed socks and Master Chef (I'm addicted!).
- Music I've been listening to in the last week: Kisschasy, Something With Numbers, Death Cab, The Paper and The Plane, Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, Julia Nunes, Fleet Foxes, Placebo, Phoenix, The Shins, Tokyo Police Club and Ladyhawke.
- Some of my favourite photos from the last week have been thrown into this blog too. Enjoy!

Also, please note, I've done something every day since I last wrote a TiLT! Woo!
I'm really trying to get off the internet and live my life more. It's working, to the max, as the last few TiLTs are a testimate to that I think. I've been rather busy doing social things and my RSA and organisting my stuff for uni and whatnot.
Goood times.
Now I just need some regular casual work and I'll be set.

How was your week sailor?
Good I hope!

Upcoming Gigs, Vol. 1

Hey kids!

So, for about a year or two now I've been in the habit of writing down all the upcoming gigs I'm interested in going to and emailing the list to my friends.
It dawned on me today that I could also publish the list in my blog, for everyone to see, so here goes -

Upcoming gigs for July that I'm interested in -

Something with Numbers
10.07.0
The Hi-Fi (West End) 18+
8pm, $25 + BF

Streamer Bendy ( + Vincent and The Tiger Palms)
15.07.09
Rosie's Tavern (City) 18+
8pm, $10 at the door

The Gallant ( + The Rocketsmiths and Drawn from Bees)
18.07.09
The Hive (Valley PCYC) U18
6pm, $10 at the door
(I'm volunteering for that show so I'll be the one who stamps your wrist if you decide to come)

The Basics ( + The Boat People and Dead Letter Circus)
30.07.09
The Zoo! (Valley) 18+
8pm, $15 pre-sale. Tickets should also be available on the door but I'm not sure how much they will be.

This is just a very, very small selection of the gigs that are coming up for July. There's heaps more, you can check them out at Oztix tickets here,
you can also check out more upcoming gigs on the Triple J gig guide here. Of course you can always look all the bands up on myspace etc. Also, don't forget to check out The Hive at their myspace for loads and loads of upcoming gigs and other local music goodness.

Support touring bands (especially if they're Australian!)
Enjoy!

TiLT - 31

Good afternoon lovers!

So, another week has flown by and I'm over due to write my TiLT.. again. I've had a very good, busy week, but neglected to write my TiLT yesterday because I was running around trying to organise my credit application for uni.
Alas.

Nevertheless, my favourite moments this week were:

- A great rainy day in spent on the couch with my twin at her place. Cheese sandwiches, chocolate covered biscuits, coffee and great movies. Good times.
- FETE DE LA MUSIQUE AND SUNDAY IN GENERAL. Fete was awesome, I had a great day (despite the rain) and took loads of photos. Afterwards the twin, the boy and I had pizza, soft drink, tv watching and ALOT of talking atthe twin's, and then said twin came to mine for a sleepover. Much fun was had by all. I woke up at 5:25am sunday and went to bed at 1am monday. Pretty sure that's the longest time I've been awake in a long, long time. Haha.
-Cupcakes, grocery shopping, interviews, scrabble and Charmed with two of my fave girls. It was a good day, and we rock at cupcake baking. Vanilla with chocolate chips and icing! Yum!
- Going to see "The Hangover" with my boy and eating far, far too much popcorn for dinner... and then adventuring through the streets of Geebung in my car for a while for no good reason. Sweet as.
- Fantastic cheap burritos with five of my most favourite people ever on tuesday night. Cheap, good food, drinks, fantastic friends and great times. Total bliss.
- Painting my nails bright purple (again). I'm obsessed with my Kit purple nail polish. It's so thick and gorgeous, you only need one coat! LOVE.
- Impromtu shopping catch ups with a friend I haven't seen in almost 6 months! It was great to catch up!
- MY NEW DRESS. (Purchased at above mentioned shopping catch up session) It's from Igedo and was $110, reduced to $39. It's gorgeous, strapless and silk and has boning and a petticoat, not to meantion a giant bow on the front. I love it. I want to wear it to a tea party.
- MY NEW BOOTS. (Also purchased at above mentioned shopping catch up session) They're grey, not quite knee length and were only $10. YES. ONLY $10. Reduced from $40. They're greeat, comfy, and a total bargain! Success!
- My mum buying a new couch. Sounds weird, but I'm excited. New giant black leather couch should be arriving today, it's really like three couches cos it's in a U shape and is huge. It's made mum go on this "let's do over the whole living room" rampage, so she's out now buying a new dining table and chairs and coffee tables and whatnot. We haven't had new furniture in like... 12 years, this is exciting. Haha.
- I USED TO SKATE ONCE 5. At The Zoo last night, it was great. Art on skate boards, good music, good friends, trendy people and it was all for free. I love free trendy events in Brisbane, as does the rest of trendy Brisbane, as the place was packed.
- Pumping Michael Jackson tunes at 11am in the morning in rememberance of the King. RIP.

- Music I've been into this week: Michael Jackson, Of Montreal, Hot Chip, Kimya Dawnson, Sonic Youth, Angela's Dish, Anberlin, Cold War Kids, Guillemots and the "Have you heard?" (Volume 5) cd I got for freeeee at Fete De La Musique. Love my Brissy bands and free music!

Well, I think that's pretty much it for me for my highlights of this week.
How was your week?

TiLT - 30 (Can't believe I've written 30 of these!)

Good evening bloggers!

I hope you all had a fabulous week! I've been busy since last thursday, which is half the reason my TiLT is a day late - I wasn't home at all yesterday, didn't get home until 4pm today. Splendid!

Here's what I'm loving this thursday:
- BEING ON UNI HOLIDAYS. OH EM GEE IT'S AMAZING TO DO AS I PLEASE!
- FINALLY FINISHING ALL MY UNI ASSESSMENT. Kinda continues on from the first dot point but yeah, it's such an amazing feeling to finally have no more assessment! 5 assignments and 4 exams in a 4 week period was not fun. But it's over now, yay! I still feel like I should be studying, and I'm still in stay-up-til-midnight-cos-you've-got-stuff-to-do mode. I'll start to relax soon... I hope.
- Travelling to Inskip Point, Rainbow Beach, Noosa and Eumundi all within the last week. Good times! I love travelling north!
- Fantastic weekends and late night scrabble games with a dear friend.
- Eucalyptus and aloe vera tissues. Heaven for my nose this past week. I hate having a cold.
- Going in a boat for the first time. Sure, it was only a tinny with a rusty bottom, but hey, it still counts.
- Making friends with our neighbours when camping at Inskip Point and them making us cups of tea! Adorable!
- FINALLY GETTING MY GREEN P LICENSE! I finally bothered to upgrade my license from red to green p, yesss! Should have done it 7 months ago, but oh well... better late than never, haha.
- Fantastic breakfasts sitting in the sun looking out onto Noosa's main beach.
- Elisha!
- Driving to Noosa! I drove home all on my own, and didn't get lost or die. I'm getting more confident with long distance driving! Woo!
- Getting zillions of compliments on the curly-ness, cut and colour of my hair from friends and from random people.. even hair dressers! Apparently my hair is amazing?! I don't know. It does what it wants haha. - Making lots and lots of awesome holiday plans with so many different people!
- FINALLY doing my training for my new job! I'm now filled with all the pet nutritional information I'll ever need, haha. I also have loads of promotional stuff in my room. There's alot of stuff. Hills are really into their promotions!
- My new fleecy hoodie! It was $10 from Cotton On, oh yeah! I love it. It's grey (of course).
- The prospect of all the upcoming work I've got lined up! Hills, baby sitting, waitressing and random photography jobs! Yes! I refuse to be poor any longer! Fingers crossed it all works out. I'm broke... and I want to buy boots, amoung a million other things.
- Finally getting over my cold! I've been sick for exactly a week, and finally I can breathe through my nose again! It's not swine flu after all, haha! Success!
- Music I've been listening to this week: Anberlin, Angelas Dish, Ben Folds, Cold War Kids, Placebo, The Beatles and Phoenix.
- Looking forward to: THE REST OF THE HOLIDAYS! So much planned. It's going to be great.
Ok, I'm off to bed.
Good night kittens!

Sick.

Polaroid
Polaroid by Louchasy featuring Forzieri jewelry

Hello bloggers!

Hope you're all swell on this lovely Tuesday.
I'm not.

I'm sick. And tired. And sick and tired of being sick and tired. It's stopping me doing things. I've been sick since friday. Gah. I'm over it. Waste of my time.

In other news - I've finished uni for the semester! Woo! I did my last exam last night - it was online, so that was pretty cool. So now I'm on holidays for 6 weeks, yesss. I'm so excited to go places and do things and see people, and most of all - work! I have training for my job tomorrow night. Can't wait, it's taken them forever to organise it.

That's pretty much it for now.
I'm off to blow my nose and cough some more.
Bye

TiLT - 29

Hello kittens!

Another week has gone by again! This year seems to be going so extremely fast, I can't believe it's June already!

I don't have much to put on my TiLT list this week, but here goes -

Things I'm loving this thursday:

- Being ALMOST done with uni! I've only got one assignment and one (online) exam left and then I'm free for six whole weeks! Yesssss! Can't believe I've survived!
- Jade's birthday! Saturday night was fab! I had such a good time :)
- Last night! Streamer Bendy and The Gallant were AWESOME, and Bar Soma is such a cool place!
- Actually being told I have training for my new job! Next wednesday night! YESSS! Finally!
- Honourable mentions: ugh boots, socks, sleep, my portable electric heater, blankets, cheese, looking forward to uni holidays and this weekend, writing lists and ticking things off, going to gigs on a wednesday night, my DSLR and taking photos of everything all the time.
- Music I'm into (eg. what I've mostly listened to this week): Streamer Bendy, The Gallant, Death Cab For Cutie, The Decemberists, Cold War Kids, Say Anything and Phoenix... all my favourites really.

That's pretty much it.
Getting my car window fixed tomorrow, which is good cos it means I'll be able to park in public places again, but bad because it'll make me really poor.
Also I hate winter. It's only the beginning of June and I'm already sick of being cold all the time. Also I don't really own any winter clothes... I'm such a summer person, haha. Need to go and buy myself some socks and jumpers and jackets and cardigans.

I have a huge list of all the things I'm going to do on the uni holidays.
I'm excited.

I should really go and write my last tech report now... considering it's due tomorrow... Humpf. I could win a procrastination competition. I know all the tricks.
Goodnight world

Saturday at Friday's

Yo!

It was Jade's birthday on saturday.
I got home to discover 390 photos on my camera.
Oh the advantages of digital photography! Like, film is awesome and does capture things in a way digital can't, but I could never afford to take 390 photos on film and have them developed.
Here's a few faves from the night -

SLOTH

HELLO READERS!

First of all, I'd just like to say a giant HOLLY AWESOME FECK YESSSSSSSSSSS!
Why?
BECAUSE I HANDED IN MY PHOTO IMAGING FOLIO AND DIGITAL IMAGING ASSIGNMENTS TODAY, BOTH COMPLETE AND HANDED IN ON TIME.
Feck yes.
They were both GIANT assignments, and had written parts and photography parts and references and contact sheets and screen captures and a million other things in them. The photo imaging folio was worth 50% of my grade for the unit, so fingers crossed I do well on it...
I feel fairly good about it so hopefully that's a good sign.
The digital imaging assignment was a photoshop editing one, pretty insane cos I shot it 3 weeks ago but didn't edit the photos until last night. Oh wells... only kept me up til 4am... Haha.
I spent all week worrying about photo imaging and neglected digital imaging, but I got it all done on time and it's over now so WOOOOOO.
Only got one assignment and three exams left, then I'm free for six weeks! YAY YAY YAY.

Also the last few weeks have taught me something - leaving assignments to the last minute is bad. I've done it before but never really learnt from the experience. I tend to leave things until a week before they're due, but lately I've left things until the day before they're due or even the day they're due to finish them... *cough* post modernism and digital imaging *cough*
It's not good. I'm so disorganised, but I never change because I always seem to get good marks whether I do it a week before it's due or the day it's due.
I work best under pressure, I think.
But I want to change this, I've realised the added stress of doing something last minute isn't really something I need in my life.
I MUST WORK TO CHANGE THIS. MUST.

I'm feeling rather sleep deprived cos I was up til 4am doing my digital imaging assignment, and I woke up at 9am and went to uni, and did uni stuff all day til I got home at 5pm.
I also realised (I’ve been realising a lot of things this week) today, I'm a giant sloth.
A giant, lazy, unfit sloth.
Sloth sloth sloth.
I can get 10 hours sleep and wake up tired, or I can get 5 hours sleep and wake up tired. Or any amount of hours of sleep in between. I just seem to be eternally tired. Not normal I don't think. I half blame my sleep apnea but it's not that severe ALL the time so it shouldn't make me thaaaat tired.
I don't know. Maybe I have low iron levels or something. Hmm.

Anywho.. I think that’s all I wanted to say for now. I feel like I should be celebrating hardcore cos I’ve done my photo imaging and digital imaging assignments, finished photo imaging as a whole, don’t have any more classes and only have one assignment and three exams left… But I’m too tired to celebrate, so I’ll just sit here and think about celebrating. Plus I’m going out tomorrow night and it’s gonna be amazinggggg (Jade’s birthday! YEWWW!) so that’ll make up for my lack of enthusiasm from today.
Yep.

SO CLOSE TO THE END OF UNI!
YESSSS!

Hope you've all had a fabulous friday, I'm going to go to bed verrrrry soon... I feel like my eyeballs are going to fall out of my head, I'm that tired!
Tough week.
Hope those of you who are also going through uni assessment time at the moment are surviving!
Good night everyone!

xx

p.s ZOMG IT'S JUNE NOW... WHAAAT!? I've been doing photography at QCA for a whole SEMESTER! When did that happen?!

TiLT - 28

Hello everyone!

Things I'm loving this thursday are as follows:

HANDING IN MY POST MODERNISM ESSAY! It might have been a day late, but hey, I got it done, AND NOW IT’S OVER! Now all I have to worry about is the modernism and post modernism exam… And you know, like... passing the subject. Eeeek.

MY BROTHER GIVING ME NEW SPEAKERS AND MATCHING BASS! There’s five speakers and a sub. Like, wow. My brother and I are becoming friends. I take him to school, proof read his assignments and quiz him on things for his exams, he gives me speakers. Win! (Photo to the left... only two speakers shown but there is three more... If only my car had nice speakers. Damn.)

THE FACT THAT I HAVE NO MORE UNI CLASSES FOR THE SEMESTER! Yesss! I had my last classes this week, most of which were cancelled or I just didn’t go. Wooo. Now I’ve just got my remaining 3 assignments (two of which are due tomorrow) and 3 exams to fuss over. Gah.

MY NEW HEAD BAND! It’s adorable and makes me feel like a present. I never want to take it off, and best of all, it was only $10! Yesss! HOW CUTE IS IT?! It reminds me of Blair from Gossip Girl, also it reminds me of Gala. I like it cos it's not something I'd normally buy. You're probably all thinking "Jesus Louise, IT'S JUST A HEAD BAND, GET OVER IT!" but WHATEVER. I love my new head band. I think it's exciting. Being materialistic is fun sometimes.

HAVING MY PHOTO IMAGING FOLIO DONE THE DAY BEFORE IT’S DUE! I took all the photos weeks in advance. Oh man, I can be organised when I try, and it’s fab. My folio’s due on Friday and I did the written parts on Tuesday and put the photos in to be printed on Wednesday! YAY.

Honourable mentions: My pyjamas, talking to Jade EVERYDAY, Waterfords Lemon Lime and Bitters for $1.20 at Crazy Clarks, Arrested Development, awesome 20 minute long phone calls with new uni friends, Chris, mint slice biscuits, Gossip Girl (season two just finished, now what am I gonna watch on Tuesday nights?! Skins season two finished as well, why do you do this to me Fox8?! ), cork boards and push pins, ribbon, not going to my last week of uni classes, Rachel! (I FREAKING MISS YOU WOMAN!), Papermate ball point pens that have light blue, green, purple, pink and orange ink instead of the regular black/blue/red (It’s exciting cos they were only like $3 for a 15 pack and I love stationery!), Everglades strawberry liquor (smells and tastes like strawberry jelly, and was only $12 haha) and finally, the fact that it’s holidays really soon!

And a new section for my TiLTs - Music I’m into this week!
This week I've been listening to Say Anything (oh wow they are so amazing!), Phoenix, Lady Hawke, Tokyo Police Club, The Decemberists, and Hungry Kids of Hungry. Yeaaaah.

Looking forward to: This weekend - Jade's birthday! Yewww! Also looking forward to the end of uni exams and UNI HOLIDAYS. It will be sweeeeeet.

Hope you all had a fab week!
Bring on the weekend!

ALIVE

When I watch you, I wanna do you right where you're standing (yeah)
Right on the foyer, on this dark day, right in plain view (oh yeah)
Of the whole ghetto. The boots stomp meadows, but we ignore that (yeah)
You're lovely, baby. This war is crazy. I won't let you down (Oh no no)

No, I won't let them take you, won't let them take you
Hell no no, oh no, I won't let them take you, won't let them take you
Hell no no.

No, oh no no no!

And when our city, vast and shitty, falls to the axis (yeah)
They'll search the buildings, collect gold fillings, wallets and rings (oh yeah)
But Ms. Black Eyeliner, you'd look finer with each day in hiding (oh yeah)
Beneath the wormwood, oooh, love me so good.
They won't hear us screw away the day. I'll make you say:

Alive! Alive!
Alive with love, alive with love tonight

No, I won't let them take you, won't let them take you
Hell no no, oh no, I won't let them take you, won't let them take you
Hell no no.

Our Treblinka is alive with the glory of love!
Treblinka, alive, with the glory of love, yeah!

Should they catch us and dispatch us to those separate work camps,
I'll dream about you. I will not doubt you with the passing of time (oh yeah)
Should they kill me, your love will fill me, as warm as the bullets (yeah)
I'll know my purpose. This war was worth this. I won't let you down.
No, I won't
No, I won't
No, I won't

Alive! Alive!
Alive with love, alive with love tonight
Hell no no, oh no
Alive! Alive!
I won't let them take you, won't let them take you (Alive with love, alive with love tonight)
Hell no, no
No, no

- Alive With The Glory Of LOVE
Say Anything

Say Anything make me want to sing really loud and dance around.
They're fab. They make me happy. I've been listening to their album "It's A Real Boy" all week long.
Check them out if you're not already a fan.
The song has a cute film clip, you can watch it on Youtube here.
Alternatively, you can watch Julia Nunes do a cover of the song on her uke here. She's fab, Say Anything are fab... everybody wins.
Thanks to Rachel for supplying me with some of their music! <3
I WILL write a TiLT tomorrow, I promise.

Absent

I don't feel like writing a TiLT list this week.
Too tedious and annoying and just... gah.
Too much else going on.

Drowning.

Parasites

Hello readers!

Thought of the day:
This is no new information, but, I do not want children.
Do. Not. Want.
Just thought I'd officially announce that to the world after saying it to friends and co-workers for as long as I can remember on multiple occasions.
I do not get along with children, I never have and I'm fairly certain I never will. Give me 20 cats instead anyday. I'm not even kidding. I'd rather have a pet shark or grizzly bear than a child.

I can't ever remember being attracted to the idea of children. I never played with dolls or played families or babies or whatever when I was a kid. I played with toy lions and horses and dogs, and occaisonally trucks in the dirt with the boys.
And furthermore, I just don't get kids. I don't even like holding other people's babies, and the only reason I do baby sitting is cos it's extra money on the side and it's only ever like once every second month for like 4 hours.

I was talking about kids, marriage, boyfriends, grand master love life plans and whatnot with Rachel just before.
My response to children: Yeah, no. I dont want anything to grow inside of me like some sort of parasite for nine months, and then come out from being inside of me and have it drink from my boobs.
Made Rachel laugh. Haha.
The thing is though, IT'S SO TRUE. I say things like that alot. I've never liked or wanted children, ever. I just don't like children, and I don't like the idea of something LIVING inside of me for nine months. I also refuse to believe the "Oh but MY children will be different" idea. All children have snotty noses and cry, just because their yours doesn't make them angels.

Plus, the whole having a child as your own responsibility for the entire time it's a child, and then after you don't need to look after it quite so much, it'll still live with you in your house until it's 18 or 20 or so years old idea is not that appealing. I know what it's like to be an annoying teenager, why would I want to give birth to something and put myself through the agony of being on the receiving end of all that teen angst?! Plus like, if I end up doing photography as a career, I'm going to want and need to travel. Not so good if you need to be changing nappies and worrying about feeding times.

Then there's my other thought - there's already billions of people in the world, why do I deserve to populate the earth further? What does that acheive?!
I'd rather adopt a bunch of homeless animals on death row at the RSPCA. I'd rather save their lives than create a new life in the form of a baby living inside me.
And if I ever do end up wanting kids because I'm deluded somehow, I'll adopt. For the reason I stated above. Why do I deserve to populate this earth when there are millions of children already out there which don't have clean drinking water or loving parents?

Tell ya what, it'd have to be someone extremely special to convince me to want to give birth.
Yeaaaah, just no.
No no no.

But hey, this is just MY opinion. If you want kids, then that's awesome, you can go do that and I'll come to your baby shower and be supportive and everything, but you won't catch me having a baby of my own.
This is just me having a little rant about how I don't like or want kids. You can buy a puppy and get sick of it after 6 months because you've not bothered to train it and now it's eating everything you own because it's bored, and I'll adopt it from you. That would make me feel worthwhile, adopting that neglected puppy of yours and giving it the attention it deserves, but I'm not having children.

Hope you all enjoyed that.
I have opinions.
See, this blog is moderately interesting, sometimes.
Good night world.

Cat Nap

I went to a friend of a friend's house on friday night.
Made friends with his neighbour's cat.
She fell asleep on my feet.
Animals are drawn to me, somehow. I have a "animals come to me, I will love you" vibe I think.
I could have easily scooped her up and taken her home with me.
Man I want a cat of my own SO bad, but my dogs would probably not get along with a cat at all.
As soon as I move out/don't have dogs that don't like cats, I'm getting a cat. I so desperately want to adopt one or two from the RSPCA. The sheer number of cats they pick up off the streets or have dumped at the shelters is huge, I wanna save a few of them.
That's all I wanted to say.
xx

It makes no sense, but I'm desperate to connect

Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, cleverly answer these questions. Try not to repeat a song title. It's harder than you think.

Artist : Gotye
Are you male or female: Wonder why you want her
Describe yourself: Out of my mind
How do you feel about yourself: Heart’s a mess
Describe your current boy/girl situation: True to you
Describe where you currently live: Here in this place
If you could go anywhere you wanted to go: Noir excursion
Your favourite form of transportation: Seven hours with a backseat driver
Your best friend(s) is(are): The only thing I know
Your favourite colour is: Worn out blues
Favourite time of day: Night drive
If your life were a TV show, what would it be called: A distinctive sound
What is life to you: Board with this game
What is the best advice you have to give: Learnalilgivinanlovin
If you could change your name, what would it be: Baby
Thought for the Day: What do you want?
How I would like to die: Like drawing blood
My soul's present condition: Puzzle with a piece missing

I found that kinda fun. I did this process a few times - Made two Kisschasy ones, and also ones using Phoenix and Repeat Offender, but I liked my Gotye one best... came up with some clever answers I think. Gotye is so wonderful.
This is basically just me avoiding doing anything in my real life - eg. study, doing assignments or designing my new TSB.

Internetland is fun to live in, and provides a good means of distraction from real life.
After this I might start writing my tech reports for uni... blarggg. I haven't done anything uni related since friday... But seriously, as if me writing about how I did a photoshoot in a scientific way is going to teach me anything.

Gah.

Hope you've all had a nice weekend, I have.

TiLT - 27 + Other random ramblings

Happy Thursday Blog Readers!

Hope you've all had a fab week, mine's been pretty good overall.

The things I'm loving this thursday are rather limited, this week hasn't been that fulfilling/exciting/busy. Nevertheless, here's my list (and on time for once, yay!) -

- BEING EMPLOYED! YES! I finally have a job, as of yesterday. I heard back from Hills Science Diet (pet food company) and they told me I've got the job! I'm SO excited! It's absolutely awesome to know I'll be working and earning money again soon, plus, as an added bonus, this is a job I actualy WANTED! So chuffed!

- FINALLY GETTING SOME GOOD PRINTS FROM MY 120MM BLACK AND WHITE FILM! After three weeks of doing nothing but endless test strips in the dark rooms at uni, I've finally managed to get some good prints! I've got a couple of good ones I can hand in, and I'm pretty happy overall with the final result... even if I did waste about 10 sheets of paper doing test strips alone. I'm done now. Yay. On the left is a photo I took on my mobile phone of one of the prints I did. So proud of myself. Did the shoot myself, developed the negs myself, did the prints myself. It's quite exciting to develop your own photos!

- WATCHING TRASHY TV WITH CHRIS (and Chris in general of course)! I love my trashy tv, (let's face it though, who doesn't?!) and watching it with my Chris was fab. Gossip Girl is addictive. Skins is always amazing. He'll be back for more. Haha. <3

- ALCOHOL SHOPPING WITH JADE! Hahaha. We spent like 45mins in Dan Murpheys today looking at pretty much every spirit in the store, even though we're both pretty much broke. We lingered that long that one of the older male store worker dudes said "You princesses right, or do you need some help?" We giggled and said "No, no, we're right, thanks..." and he's all like "Ok, are you sure?" Hahahaaa. Good times. So much talk of cosmopolitans, sequins, mixers and margaritas.

- THIS WEEK'S INSANE WEATHER! Shouldn't really be a positive cos it hasn't helped me in any way, but it did provide me with two lovely days sitting around at home (I really should have spent the time doing uni work, but I didn't...) and some nice photo opportunities. Hense the photo of the waterfall that was in my front yard. So. Much. Water. It was really nice to snuggle up in bed with a book and read whilst listening to the rain though. Total bliss.

- THINGS IN MY LIFE BEING GENERALLY PRETTY GOOD OVERALL! I'd like to quickly take this rare chance to say that, right now, things are pretty damn good overall. Things are not perfect and never, ever will be, but I'm pretty ok right now. I've finally got a job, home life is... bearable, uni is going kind of ok and things in my life in general are pretty great. Just need to get on top of my uni work and start earning money again and I'll be sweet. So uhh.. yeh. Just wanted to write that down while things are good. I like to stop and think about it sometimes. I'm pretty lucky I think. And I think it's fair to say, anyone who's reading this is pretty lucky too. We have pretty great lives when you take a step back and think about it, I reckon.

- Honourable mentions for this week: my flanelette pjs with goldfish on them (recently they've gotten alot more wear than the rest of my entire wardrobe combined), Phoenix, my ugg boots, finally doing some new tattoo designs, peanut M&Ms, cookie dough Kit Kats, Gotye, chocolate Nesquik, Jack's Mannequin, Weezer, gel pens and highlighters, writing lists, not going to my photo imaging class and staying home in my pjs instead, and my giant white hoodie with the tapes and mobile phones on it (wearing it riiiiight now).

- Dishonourable mentions (I know TiLTs are meant to be positive but whatever, it's my blog, I'll write what I want!) - LARGEST DISHONOURABLE MENTION = MY CAR LEAKING FROM BEING PARKED OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN AND AS A RESULT IT FILLED UP WITH WATER. Yes. I discovered a whole inch of water in my car when I opened it on wednesday to go for a drive. Water had come in where the foot pedals are on the driver's side, so the driver's side whole foot area was an inch deep in water, and of course the back passenger's foot area on the driver's side was an inch deep in water too, because the two areas arn't separated by anything cos my car is old and lame. I had to get 4 towels to soak up most of the water, and I've had my car in the garage with the doors open trying to air it out, but it's still totally soggy and gross. Sigh. The photo to the left is of the water in my car. Wooo. Other dishonourable mentions include: the avalanche of uni work I'm currently trying to navigate my way through (3 exams to study for and 5 assignments to do, pretty sure I won't ever finish at the rate I'm going) and last but not least - the fact that I'm really, really poor. I can't take it anymore. I miss buying things and going cool places. Bring on lots of shifts with my new Hills job!

In other news - This week, Phoenix announced they're doing an Australian "tour". I got mega, mega excited... until they then said they only two shows they were playing would be in Sydney and Melbourne. Needless to say, I'm gutted. Why Phoenix, WHY?! Why come to Australia and only play TWO shows?! COME TO BRISBANE AT LEAST, DAMN IT.
Totally gutted.

That's pretty much it for now.. I think.
Hope you all enjoyed my on time TiLT list!
Woo!

Happy reading!

TiLT - 26

Hello everyone!

I'm posting my TiLT at 9:27pm on a WEDNESDAY! I'm so organised for my TiLT this week that I've decided to post it a few hours early! (Plus I'm always really busy on a thursday so this'll work out best I think) YAY YAY YAY.

Things I'm Loving This Thursday:
(This week's list is a bit short cos I've had a bit of a rough one but I'm still being postive so yay me!)

BLACK BOOKS! Oh em gee. Watched all of season 1 with Chris on Thursday night (last week) and now I’m hooked. Thanks <3

DELETING CRAP OFF MY PC! My pc was about to die because it was so full. I bought myself a new 500gb external hard drive, a 8gb USB and an 8gb SD card (for my camera) and so now I’m all sorted for file storage. Thanks Dan!!! My computer still has a lot of stuff to be deleted off it but at least now it can breathe again. YAY.

PASSING ASSIGNMENTS I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO FAIL! Woo! I’ve actually been doing pretty well at uni (so far) and it’s amazing. I got a distinction for my modernism essay! I'm so chuffed! Haha.

INDOOR PICNICS! Rachel came over on Saturday, we had a lovely indoor picnic on my bedroom floor and watched most of Season 2 of Black Books whilst painting our nails, chatting and eating. It was great! <3

THROWING THINGS OUT! Rachel helped med be ruthless and sort through my clothes (again). I ended up giving away 15 bits of clothing and a pair of shoes. I won’t miss any of it, I’m sure. Thanks Rach!

BEING COMPLIMENTED ON MY NOSE RING! Saturday night I got a lot of compliments about my nose ring. It was really weird but awesome. Especially the “Most people could not pull that off, but it really suits you”. I dunno, made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Haha.

LAST FM! Oh my god it is amazing. I don’t understand how on earth it can be so clever. As well as this, it provides much amusement and entertainment for me, I’m on there alllll the timeeeee. Thanks Chris for encouraging me to get one.
Add me on Last.Fm

Well that's my list for this week.
In other news, I've been applying for more jobs - my grand total of job applications since April is now 37. I'm waiting to hear back from Hills (fingers crossed cos i really want that job!) and I'm going for an interview at a fruit and veg shop on friday if I don't get the Hills job. Woo.
On top of job searching I'm also trying to cope with uni - I've got 5 assignments and 4 exams to do in the next three weeks. I really do not know how I am going to cope. Wish me luck!

That's all for now
Hope you've all had a nice week so far!
xx

Failure

The 70’s called, they want their lingo back.

CHUFFED.

Rachel and Jade made a good point the other day – I use a lot of strange words regularly when I talk. I never really noticed until they pointed it out.
Weird words I've realised I say alot include but are not limited to - jazzed, chuffed, rad, neat, and dude. I also start a lot of sentences with “man”. Eg. "Man, I’m so chuffed about my new bedroom."
I should be in the 70’s. Haha.

In other news, this weekend will be dull and inexpensive. Woo.
Doing nothing but house work today and Rach's coming over later. I've got a load of washing on, I've tidied my room, and I'm in the process of tidying up the contents of my pc. When I opened the new box of washing powder it exploded all over the laundry bench. Fun times. I'm gonna paint my nails later too. Man, I'm so exciting right now. you're jealous, for sure.
Going to dinner tonight at an ex-co-worker's house.
More sitting around the house tomorrow.
Helping Sarah with a doggie photoshoot on sunday arvo.
Mother's day stuff with family on sunday night... Grandparents over for dinner etc.
And then it will be monday again.
SO DULL.
Blah.

I went to the gym twice this week, getting back into it after having a whole week off. Go me.
Also I want new clothes and shoes and cds.

I can be so materialistic sometimes.
I really do want new clothes though. Clothes I actually like. And shoes... I really want some cow boy boots, and some of these. I've wanted shoes in that style for about a year. Still don't have any. One day though. I've also been eyeing these off for a while. The style is called Stud Muffin. Hehehee. They're gorgeous. Anywho...

I'm also (still) debating whether or not to buy one of these. A Fuji Instax Mini 7S with a bunch of boxes of film. I've been looking at them for about 6 months and desperately want one but dunno if it's worth all the dollars or not. Hmmmm. I really, really, really want it though. Gah. Damn you Ebay, damn you.
One major problem with me wanting all these lovely new things - I'm REALLY poor.
I want and need a job SO BAD. IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS. GAH.

That's pretty much all I have to say for now.
xx
