Absent

I don't feel like writing a TiLT list this week.
Too tedious and annoying and just... gah.
Too much else going on.

Drowning.

Parasites

Hello readers!

Thought of the day:
This is no new information, but, I do not want children.
Do. Not. Want.
Just thought I'd officially announce that to the world after saying it to friends and co-workers for as long as I can remember on multiple occasions.
I do not get along with children, I never have and I'm fairly certain I never will. Give me 20 cats instead anyday. I'm not even kidding. I'd rather have a pet shark or grizzly bear than a child.

I can't ever remember being attracted to the idea of children. I never played with dolls or played families or babies or whatever when I was a kid. I played with toy lions and horses and dogs, and occaisonally trucks in the dirt with the boys.
And furthermore, I just don't get kids. I don't even like holding other people's babies, and the only reason I do baby sitting is cos it's extra money on the side and it's only ever like once every second month for like 4 hours.

I was talking about kids, marriage, boyfriends, grand master love life plans and whatnot with Rachel just before.
My response to children: Yeah, no. I dont want anything to grow inside of me like some sort of parasite for nine months, and then come out from being inside of me and have it drink from my boobs.
Made Rachel laugh. Haha.
The thing is though, IT'S SO TRUE. I say things like that alot. I've never liked or wanted children, ever. I just don't like children, and I don't like the idea of something LIVING inside of me for nine months. I also refuse to believe the "Oh but MY children will be different" idea. All children have snotty noses and cry, just because their yours doesn't make them angels.

Plus, the whole having a child as your own responsibility for the entire time it's a child, and then after you don't need to look after it quite so much, it'll still live with you in your house until it's 18 or 20 or so years old idea is not that appealing. I know what it's like to be an annoying teenager, why would I want to give birth to something and put myself through the agony of being on the receiving end of all that teen angst?! Plus like, if I end up doing photography as a career, I'm going to want and need to travel. Not so good if you need to be changing nappies and worrying about feeding times.

Then there's my other thought - there's already billions of people in the world, why do I deserve to populate the earth further? What does that acheive?!
I'd rather adopt a bunch of homeless animals on death row at the RSPCA. I'd rather save their lives than create a new life in the form of a baby living inside me.
And if I ever do end up wanting kids because I'm deluded somehow, I'll adopt. For the reason I stated above. Why do I deserve to populate this earth when there are millions of children already out there which don't have clean drinking water or loving parents?

Tell ya what, it'd have to be someone extremely special to convince me to want to give birth.
Yeaaaah, just no.
No no no.

But hey, this is just MY opinion. If you want kids, then that's awesome, you can go do that and I'll come to your baby shower and be supportive and everything, but you won't catch me having a baby of my own.
This is just me having a little rant about how I don't like or want kids. You can buy a puppy and get sick of it after 6 months because you've not bothered to train it and now it's eating everything you own because it's bored, and I'll adopt it from you. That would make me feel worthwhile, adopting that neglected puppy of yours and giving it the attention it deserves, but I'm not having children.

Hope you all enjoyed that.
I have opinions.
See, this blog is moderately interesting, sometimes.
Good night world.

Cat Nap

I went to a friend of a friend's house on friday night.
Made friends with his neighbour's cat.
She fell asleep on my feet.
Animals are drawn to me, somehow. I have a "animals come to me, I will love you" vibe I think.
I could have easily scooped her up and taken her home with me.
Man I want a cat of my own SO bad, but my dogs would probably not get along with a cat at all.
As soon as I move out/don't have dogs that don't like cats, I'm getting a cat. I so desperately want to adopt one or two from the RSPCA. The sheer number of cats they pick up off the streets or have dumped at the shelters is huge, I wanna save a few of them.
That's all I wanted to say.
xx

It makes no sense, but I'm desperate to connect

Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, cleverly answer these questions. Try not to repeat a song title. It's harder than you think.

Artist : Gotye
Are you male or female: Wonder why you want her
Describe yourself: Out of my mind
How do you feel about yourself: Heart’s a mess
Describe your current boy/girl situation: True to you
Describe where you currently live: Here in this place
If you could go anywhere you wanted to go: Noir excursion
Your favourite form of transportation: Seven hours with a backseat driver
Your best friend(s) is(are): The only thing I know
Your favourite colour is: Worn out blues
Favourite time of day: Night drive
If your life were a TV show, what would it be called: A distinctive sound
What is life to you: Board with this game
What is the best advice you have to give: Learnalilgivinanlovin
If you could change your name, what would it be: Baby
Thought for the Day: What do you want?
How I would like to die: Like drawing blood
My soul's present condition: Puzzle with a piece missing

I found that kinda fun. I did this process a few times - Made two Kisschasy ones, and also ones using Phoenix and Repeat Offender, but I liked my Gotye one best... came up with some clever answers I think. Gotye is so wonderful.
This is basically just me avoiding doing anything in my real life - eg. study, doing assignments or designing my new TSB.

Internetland is fun to live in, and provides a good means of distraction from real life.
After this I might start writing my tech reports for uni... blarggg. I haven't done anything uni related since friday... But seriously, as if me writing about how I did a photoshoot in a scientific way is going to teach me anything.

Gah.

Hope you've all had a nice weekend, I have.

TiLT - 27 + Other random ramblings

Happy Thursday Blog Readers!

Hope you've all had a fab week, mine's been pretty good overall.

The things I'm loving this thursday are rather limited, this week hasn't been that fulfilling/exciting/busy. Nevertheless, here's my list (and on time for once, yay!) -

- BEING EMPLOYED! YES! I finally have a job, as of yesterday. I heard back from Hills Science Diet (pet food company) and they told me I've got the job! I'm SO excited! It's absolutely awesome to know I'll be working and earning money again soon, plus, as an added bonus, this is a job I actualy WANTED! So chuffed!

- FINALLY GETTING SOME GOOD PRINTS FROM MY 120MM BLACK AND WHITE FILM! After three weeks of doing nothing but endless test strips in the dark rooms at uni, I've finally managed to get some good prints! I've got a couple of good ones I can hand in, and I'm pretty happy overall with the final result... even if I did waste about 10 sheets of paper doing test strips alone. I'm done now. Yay. On the left is a photo I took on my mobile phone of one of the prints I did. So proud of myself. Did the shoot myself, developed the negs myself, did the prints myself. It's quite exciting to develop your own photos!

- WATCHING TRASHY TV WITH CHRIS (and Chris in general of course)! I love my trashy tv, (let's face it though, who doesn't?!) and watching it with my Chris was fab. Gossip Girl is addictive. Skins is always amazing. He'll be back for more. Haha. <3

- ALCOHOL SHOPPING WITH JADE! Hahaha. We spent like 45mins in Dan Murpheys today looking at pretty much every spirit in the store, even though we're both pretty much broke. We lingered that long that one of the older male store worker dudes said "You princesses right, or do you need some help?" We giggled and said "No, no, we're right, thanks..." and he's all like "Ok, are you sure?" Hahahaaa. Good times. So much talk of cosmopolitans, sequins, mixers and margaritas.

- THIS WEEK'S INSANE WEATHER! Shouldn't really be a positive cos it hasn't helped me in any way, but it did provide me with two lovely days sitting around at home (I really should have spent the time doing uni work, but I didn't...) and some nice photo opportunities. Hense the photo of the waterfall that was in my front yard. So. Much. Water. It was really nice to snuggle up in bed with a book and read whilst listening to the rain though. Total bliss.

- THINGS IN MY LIFE BEING GENERALLY PRETTY GOOD OVERALL! I'd like to quickly take this rare chance to say that, right now, things are pretty damn good overall. Things are not perfect and never, ever will be, but I'm pretty ok right now. I've finally got a job, home life is... bearable, uni is going kind of ok and things in my life in general are pretty great. Just need to get on top of my uni work and start earning money again and I'll be sweet. So uhh.. yeh. Just wanted to write that down while things are good. I like to stop and think about it sometimes. I'm pretty lucky I think. And I think it's fair to say, anyone who's reading this is pretty lucky too. We have pretty great lives when you take a step back and think about it, I reckon.

- Honourable mentions for this week: my flanelette pjs with goldfish on them (recently they've gotten alot more wear than the rest of my entire wardrobe combined), Phoenix, my ugg boots, finally doing some new tattoo designs, peanut M&Ms, cookie dough Kit Kats, Gotye, chocolate Nesquik, Jack's Mannequin, Weezer, gel pens and highlighters, writing lists, not going to my photo imaging class and staying home in my pjs instead, and my giant white hoodie with the tapes and mobile phones on it (wearing it riiiiight now).

- Dishonourable mentions (I know TiLTs are meant to be positive but whatever, it's my blog, I'll write what I want!) - LARGEST DISHONOURABLE MENTION = MY CAR LEAKING FROM BEING PARKED OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN AND AS A RESULT IT FILLED UP WITH WATER. Yes. I discovered a whole inch of water in my car when I opened it on wednesday to go for a drive. Water had come in where the foot pedals are on the driver's side, so the driver's side whole foot area was an inch deep in water, and of course the back passenger's foot area on the driver's side was an inch deep in water too, because the two areas arn't separated by anything cos my car is old and lame. I had to get 4 towels to soak up most of the water, and I've had my car in the garage with the doors open trying to air it out, but it's still totally soggy and gross. Sigh. The photo to the left is of the water in my car. Wooo. Other dishonourable mentions include: the avalanche of uni work I'm currently trying to navigate my way through (3 exams to study for and 5 assignments to do, pretty sure I won't ever finish at the rate I'm going) and last but not least - the fact that I'm really, really poor. I can't take it anymore. I miss buying things and going cool places. Bring on lots of shifts with my new Hills job!

In other news - This week, Phoenix announced they're doing an Australian "tour". I got mega, mega excited... until they then said they only two shows they were playing would be in Sydney and Melbourne. Needless to say, I'm gutted. Why Phoenix, WHY?! Why come to Australia and only play TWO shows?! COME TO BRISBANE AT LEAST, DAMN IT.
Totally gutted.

That's pretty much it for now.. I think.
Hope you all enjoyed my on time TiLT list!
Woo!

Happy reading!

TiLT - 26

Hello everyone!

I'm posting my TiLT at 9:27pm on a WEDNESDAY! I'm so organised for my TiLT this week that I've decided to post it a few hours early! (Plus I'm always really busy on a thursday so this'll work out best I think) YAY YAY YAY.

Things I'm Loving This Thursday:
(This week's list is a bit short cos I've had a bit of a rough one but I'm still being postive so yay me!)

BLACK BOOKS! Oh em gee. Watched all of season 1 with Chris on Thursday night (last week) and now I’m hooked. Thanks <3

DELETING CRAP OFF MY PC! My pc was about to die because it was so full. I bought myself a new 500gb external hard drive, a 8gb USB and an 8gb SD card (for my camera) and so now I’m all sorted for file storage. Thanks Dan!!! My computer still has a lot of stuff to be deleted off it but at least now it can breathe again. YAY.

PASSING ASSIGNMENTS I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO FAIL! Woo! I’ve actually been doing pretty well at uni (so far) and it’s amazing. I got a distinction for my modernism essay! I'm so chuffed! Haha.

INDOOR PICNICS! Rachel came over on Saturday, we had a lovely indoor picnic on my bedroom floor and watched most of Season 2 of Black Books whilst painting our nails, chatting and eating. It was great! <3

THROWING THINGS OUT! Rachel helped med be ruthless and sort through my clothes (again). I ended up giving away 15 bits of clothing and a pair of shoes. I won’t miss any of it, I’m sure. Thanks Rach!

BEING COMPLIMENTED ON MY NOSE RING! Saturday night I got a lot of compliments about my nose ring. It was really weird but awesome. Especially the “Most people could not pull that off, but it really suits you”. I dunno, made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Haha.

LAST FM! Oh my god it is amazing. I don’t understand how on earth it can be so clever. As well as this, it provides much amusement and entertainment for me, I’m on there alllll the timeeeee. Thanks Chris for encouraging me to get one.
Add me on Last.Fm

Well that's my list for this week.
In other news, I've been applying for more jobs - my grand total of job applications since April is now 37. I'm waiting to hear back from Hills (fingers crossed cos i really want that job!) and I'm going for an interview at a fruit and veg shop on friday if I don't get the Hills job. Woo.
On top of job searching I'm also trying to cope with uni - I've got 5 assignments and 4 exams to do in the next three weeks. I really do not know how I am going to cope. Wish me luck!

That's all for now
Hope you've all had a nice week so far!
xx

Failure

“Don’t fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains two descriptions: might have, & should have.”
— Louis E. Boone
