Use Somebody

Hello blog readers!

I thought I'd actually write a non-tilt blog for once, even though I don't have much to say that I havn't already said in yesterday's TiLT.
I'll ramble anyhow.
Whatever.

So things are pretty good lately, what with my birthday and christmas and the awesome weather and whatnot. Yes I just mentioned the weather. It's been great lately. Makes me want to go to the beach REALLY bad.

So right now I'm listening to lovely Jade playing requests for me on her radio show (99.7fm, check it!) and generally just enjoying the internet and Empty magazine.

I got a subscription to Empty magazine, I love it that much. I have two issues of it so far, check it out - Empty Mag.
Through Empty mag I have now discovered my new favourite artist - Karl Kwasny! I absolutely ADORE his work and his style. So brilliant. I've photo copied some of his work to stick on the cover of my 2009 diary, I love it that much.

I'll upload some of his art for you all to see into this blog. All the artworks in this blog belong to KARL KWASNY. NOT ME. KARL KAWSNY. GO SEE HIS WEBSITE, HIS STUFF IS BRILLIANT.

How gorgeous are his illustraions! Go check out his website!
I'm STILL and even more so addicted to Gala on her website. She's so gorgeous and inspiring and just generally wicked rad.

So yes, good times.
I'm excited about working lots next week. MONEY!
I was actually rostered on to be a surgery nurse on wednesday just gone, and, as if to spite me for some un-known reason, some vet clinic god made sure there were ZERO surgeries booked for wednesday. There was originally three booked, but one by one they all rang up and cancelled or changed their pet's surgery day to some other day next week. ANNOYING. So I sat around and cleaned things and served customers all day. Gah!
And I'm not excited about working at 7:30am tomorrow and 8:30am on sunday. Havn't worked a weekend in almost a month, which is weird after working every saturday bar about four in the three years I've been working at the vet.
But! I'm going out to Jade's tomorrow night! Will be awesome and taco filled with fun times on the side! DELICIOUS.

This blog is REALLY RANDOM. But oh well.
Rachel and I are into eye shadow. We've bought some GORGEOUS eye shadow from Lime Crime! We found out about it through Gala Darling and I can't wait for it to arrive! I ordered Snow Queen and Duchess. $17AU per pot! Super pigmented and sparkly! Exciting!
So exciting in fact is made me want to experiment with eye shadow yesterday. I had on two shades of purple, and then pink and also silvery white. Looked wickeddd. Turns out I don't suck at makeup as much as I thought I did.

The blog title is from Kings of Leon. I like their new cd even if it is concidered "cool" to like them now or whatever.
And I could really use somebody. A boy would be nice. Haha.
A girl can dream can't she!? =]

Can't believe I still have so much uni holidays left.
It's nuts.
Lots of cool stuff coming up though! New Years Eve!
Many, many, many concerts and festivals in January and February! Stars! Sunset Sounds! BDO! LOADS OF OTHERS AS WELL.
Finding out if I'm going to be doing photography next year at uni or not!
A new issue of Empty mag soon!
Finishing my roll of film I've taken on my lomo with the red flash from Alison and getting it developed! I really cannot wait to see if the photos are shit or not! Hehe!

I bought the dogs new collars for christmas, red for Skye, black for Zerren, with silvery reflective stitching on them. They look really neat.
And I'm ADORING my new Christina Aguilera perfume. It's the original one, and I love love love it. I'd go swimming in it if I could. So lovely!

I don't know what else to write about. This blog is so spasmodic.

I had ALOT of fun at Snitch last week. Good times. I dunno if I fit in there or not but I don't care cos it was fun as. The photo is some drinks Rach and I were having before hand. Fruit tingle anyone?! =] SO GOOD.

And I'm (kinda) looking forward to Repeat Offender's last gig. It's going to be epic and bitter sweet. I love my RO boys alot and I'm so so so sad they're not going to be playing together as RO anymore, but I'm excited to hear all this new material they've been writing for their new musical endevours.

So ok I think I'm done spasmodically blogging now.
Hope you all enjoyed that!
xx

TiLT - Week Seven

Hello everyone!

Being that in tha past week I've had a birthday AND now it's christmas, my TiLT will be long and present filled... hehe!

Here's what I'm loving this week -

Presents and birthdays - Saturday was my 19th birthday, and is the reason why this past week has been particularly delicious. I got up in the morning, mum made me pancakes and fresh juice and gave me my present, then I sat around watching Will and Grace til it was time to go to Never Ever Land with Chris!

Scratchies and cards - I ended up with about 7 birthday cards all up, makes me feel special. And Rose from work got me a card and a scratchie! No one else at work even remembered my birthday, so it made me feel great when Rose gave me the card. Rose is so lovely.

Gilmore Girls! They've made it into my TiLT lists before, but now it's even better cos I OWN them on dvd! THANKYOU JADEY! <3 Very awesome birthday present and something I've wanted for aaages. =]

NEVER EVER LAND! Went on saturday with Chris from uni. Chris is so great and so were all the bands we saw. And the drinks we drank and all the songs we danced to. The Presets were awesome, and The Klaxons, Cut Copy, Lady Hawke and Van She. Good times. And meeting up with Aaron and Dave and going back to Rachel's to hang with them and her, and then having Alison come over was just wicked rad. Good birthday day, even if I didn't have a cake or anyone sing to me. Good times.

Snitch! Last thursday going to Snitch with Rach and Frank was wicked fun, even if it is slightly embarassing to say I love going there. Hanging with Matt from RO, Erinn from Nina May and sexy Alex from Postcards for Abby was funnnn! Woo! AND THE PAPER AND THE PLANE played and they were great as per usual! Twas a good night out!

Blue and green curacao! My long time love of blue has now extended to green! It's like midori, but SO mch more affordable! Good times with Rach were had before we went to Snitch, and we made a kickarse Greek salad.

Birthday texts, emails, phone calls, facebook and myspace messages! Texts are the best, made me feel so special on the day though! I was getting them from different people all day long, from midnight to 11pm! So nice! My phone bill will now be huge.

Gossip Girl! In the TiLT list before also, but, I got the book the tv series is based on from Hayden for my birthday! Now I can read the trashy scandals, and watch them! Yeeew! Trashalicious!

MY NEW RING. By far the best birthday/christmas present I've gotten, aside from getting Zerren himself. My mum got my dads mother's wedding ring remade for me for my birthday. It was just a diamond and in an ugly 70's style setting, so mum had it remade, adding in some sapphires from my mum's mum, and some extra gold from one of mum's spare rings. Loooks gorgeos and huge sentimental value as well as real value!

JACK COMING HOME.
God I've missed that boy, so very, very much. Him coming home on monday was such a treat. Seeing the suprise on his face when Dan and I found him at the aiport and then me jumping all over him was so great. He's home safe and sound now. Such relief.

Lomolito! Alison got me a Lomolito disposable film camera for my birthday! You can use the normal flash, or a red tinted flash, SO COOL. Thanks Al <3

Christmas gifts! This year I enjoying giving more than receiving, but I got the Christina Aguilera perfume I've been lusting after for almost a whole tear, and the new Kings of Leon cd. I got great presents for mum, dad, Hayden AND even my two lovely dogs - I got my dogs nice new collars so they look spiffy and some pigs ears to chew on :) The dogs were excited!

Christmas text messages!
I've recieved 7 so far - Dac, Matt, Jed, Calum, Adam, Dan and Becca. Makes me feel special! <3

Ok so that's pretty much it for now I think.

It's a very materialistic list but oh well.

There's non-materialistic things in there too.

I'm grateful for all the people who love me and also that I've had such a good birthday and christmas week! =]

Things are pretty good right now.

Now all I want (not need, just want, so it's ok) is a nice boyfriend. Haha. Or at least someone to kiss at midnight on new years eve.

Oh wells.
I'll write a non-TiLT blog as soon as I have something interesting to write about.

Merry christmas!
<3

p.s Here's photos of me being a camera whore with my web cam. I'm a looser, I know.

TiLT - Week Six

Here's what I'm loving this week... (It's kinda short but oh well!)

Things I Love Thursday -

- Watching Gossip Girl whilst eating icecream in my pjs (aka what I did on tuesday night). There is no better combination than trashy tv that I'm addicted to and icecream!

- Hanging with Caitey at work!
Sure, we pick on each other but deep down it's true love. We get along like a house on fire and Caitey's wicked fun! <3

- Purple nail polish! It strikes again! I adore it, still! I painted my nails purple last night.. again!

- IT'S MY BIRTDAY ON SATURDAY! Yeeew! I'm excited and I hope everything goes to plan and everyone has a good time, including me. I also can't wait to see what mum got me :P

- GETTING MY EYEBROWS WAXED TOMORROW! Havn't had them professionally done since my last birthday so I'm excited. I'm making it a personal goal to have it done more often. Haha.

- Repeat Offender.
What kind of TiLT list would this be without giving them a mention? Even though they announced they're breaking up I'm still in love with them. Gosh.

- Head scarves and head bands!
My collection just keeps growing and it's great! Mum even made me a paisley head band on tuesday <3

- Re-using old clothes to make them wearable again! Mum and I have been sewing, we made a dress into a top, long jeans in to shorts, hemmed my work pants and ... that's all so far but I've got more things in mind! :)

- Seeing The Paper and The Plane tonight with Rachel! Excited!!!

I think that's all for now!
I'll write a non-TiLT blog soon, I promise!

TiLT - Week Five

Things I Love Thursday -
(It's a kinda short list this week but oh well)

- Getting compliments on my hair! I got it cut and coloured on friday, and EVERYONE at work commented! And my friends I've seen! AND EVEN RANDOM STRANGERS AT THE SHOPS AND AT WORK. Yeeew! Makes me feel great! :)

- My new 2009 diary.
Nothing beats buying a new diary and starting to fill the zillions of blank pages with art and upcoming events and whatever else!

- DVDS!
I went a little nutty today and bought a bunch of dvds, both for myself, and for mum and Hayden for xmas presents :) Hehe!!! I got Ten Things I Hate About You for $7! Yeeeah! :)

- Running into people I know whilst christmas shopping with Becca today! I saw Dan, Nathan H, Kim, Mr Kilpatrick, and Matt from RO... and I was only at the shops for like 2 hours! :) Good times!

- Drawing ink! It's a long time obsession of mine but I got all my inks out the other day and I've been playing with them on paper a bit :)

- SCRUBS! In the past week I've watched all of season 6, all of season 7 and a bunch of other random episodes. Yeeeeew! I wish Season 7 was longer! The scripts are just so darn fantastic and hilarioussss.

- Not being at uni!
I love being able to come home from work and not have to write essays! Yeaaah for being avble to waste time on the net or watching tv!

- PUPPIES! I always love puppies but there's been loads of gorgeous ones at work lately! Yay puppy kisses and lots of cuddles and tail wags! Nothing brightens your day like a puppy that's happy to see you.

Hmmm I think that's all for this week!
Hope you all had a good week!
<3 Louise

p.s HI SAM. It was odd seeing you at work the other day. I hope your cat's eye is better now :)

TiLT - Week Four

Things I love this thursday -

- Chocolate mousse. It's pretty great. I keep eating it at random times of the day. Jade and I made loads of it the other day and SHE LEFT IT AT MY HOUSE, therefore I've been nom nom noming on it at all hours. :P So gooood.

- Something with Numbers!
Concert last friday night was AMAZING. Gosh they put on a great live show! And Jake is so nice!

- Realising I have a fair few people who love me. I was thinking about my birthday and my friends and whatnot the other day and I realised I've got about 15 or so reliable friends. Some alot closer than others but loads of people who like me all the same. Made me feel a bit special.

- Catching up with above mentioned friends. Jade. Rach. Alison. Dan. Kim. Jess. Becca. Etc etc. Seen/seeing them all this week. It's great!

- Work.
Sure, I hate it sometimes but my boss's given me LOADS of extra shifts so I'm happy again. And my job at the coffee shop is going well also! Yeeew! I can finally start earning enough money to have savings again.

- Sitting on the couch in my pjs with my laptop, infront of the tv, eating and just relaxing til all hours of the night. I like some me time. :)

- Kinda lame.. but.. MY BEDROOM. It's my favourite place in the world. I love every inch of it and I take pride in making it my own. It's my own little world. I love it. And I love taking time to edit it and make it better, or change it around.

- Getting my uni marks back and being proud of myself. I got two distinctions and a credit overall for my three subjects! Woo! Fingers crossed it's high enough to get into photography.

- IT'S FINALLY DECEMBER! That means my birthday, xmas, boxing day and nye! And it also means loads more hot weather! Yesss!

I think that's all for this week!
Bye!

TiLT - Week Three

Hello blog readers!
I don't have much to write about this week but I'll try. This TILT will be short.

Things I Love Thursday-

- Compliments from people I've enver met before! I went to one of my work friend's birthday parties last weekend and all her friends (most of which were a good 4 or more years older than me) LOVED my hair! So weird but nice, they were all like: "Oh my god, your hair is amazing!" etc. I was like: "Uhhh thanks... I've come straight from working a 9 hour shift and havn't done anything to it, but thankyou!"
Haha! Brilliant.

- MY NEW CAMERAAAA! I've had it for once whole week as of tomorrow. It's so new and lovely. It's a digital SLR - A Canon Eos 450D to be exact. And I lurve it. I can't wait to take it out on the town and to gigs and whatnot! I do however need to insure it first but yeh.
Woo!

- Both of my new pairs of shoes! So adoreable. I've needed new heels for agessss and now I have two new pairs! :) Woo!

- Being home alone. Monday to friday I'm home alone every day until like 5pm. It's so brilliant. I can sit around in my pjs and no one will tell me off. And I can eat non-breakfast things for breakfast. Haha.

- Something With Numbers!!! Seeing them tomorrow night! EXCITING! Can't wait to see Jake dance some more. Brilliant. I'm excited even though I've already seen them twice this year :P

- Nail polish. In particular, the purple, blue and aqua ones I bought recently. I've worked my way through them all, finally on the blue after having purple for a week and a half, and aqua for a week and a half. Haha.

- Empty magazine. Art and culture and other awesome stuff. I'm going to subscribe to it, it's that good!

- MOUNTAIN DEW. I bought 3 2L bottles from the IGA for $1.50 each. So cheap and soooo good.

The end! Hope you all had a good week!

Up, up and away, like a rising balloon...

Hai.

This is me, with my face hidden in my diary, as I do. Haha.

So the blog title is some song lyrics from Julia Nunes' song Balloons. I love love love her music and gosh she's got skillz. I'm addicted to her and her music. I can't stop listening to all her songs, and there's none I don't like.. I even bought her first album on itunes so I can listen to Julia Nunes on my ipod and not just on Youtube!
Anywho.

It's been a while since I wrote a non-TiLT blog!
I have a little news!

1. I finally set up my new fish tank! Yeeew! My fish are so happy, as am I. I bought them some new fake plants and a filter. :) They spent the first few hours in their new tank hiding under the filter, and they're still getting used to it now even though they've been in the new tank for two days! But they do like exploring their new tank now. Thier old bowl was 6L and the new tank is 25L, they have so much more space I don't think they know what to do with themselves! They'll hopefully grow more now they've got more space too :)

2. THIS ARE GOOD IN GENERAL. Lots coming up, it's good to keep busy. I've had alot on lately! gigs and work and hanging out with mates and shopping! And I'm going to the beach next week with some of my fave people everrrr.
I've hung out with mates from work for the past two saturday nights in a row, and this coming saturday night too! Which will make it three saturday nights in a row I've hung out with people from work. And got drunk with them. Hilarious.
And Rock for Refugees was WONDERFUL last saturday! Gah! So good! So many local indie bands which I love. RO are top of the list of course. Gosh they're great.

3. I love spending time with people who make me feel good. And I love wearing my new shoes, both pairs in their 1920's style awesomeness. And I love pizza with fetta and Smirnoff. Nom. And coffee and cinnamon toast! Thanks Jade <3

4. I FREAKING LOVE MY NEW CAMERA. I FINALLY GOT IT TODAY. MY VERY OWN DIGITAL SLR. I LURRRRRRRVE IT. I ALSO LOVE THE TWO LENSES I'VE GOT! YEEEEW! Oh my gosh. I'm in love. I've waited almost a year to have my own DSLR and now I finally do! I need one for Uni and for life in general (more professional for when I do photography jobs I think) and just cos. And it's my christmas/birthday present to me, from me. Yeeeeew.

Ummm yeah so I dunno what else is new.

Rach and I are doing the "101 things to do in 1001 days" challenge. I've written my list, with added bonus things to do apart form the 101 things, just gotta edit it some more and print it out and stick it to my wall and actually start doing the things on the list! I'll post it as a blog too, once I've finished the list.

Seeing Something with Numbers on friday night! I've seen them twice already this year but I don't care! I'm excited! :)

Aaaaand the annual Artforce Awards are this coming monday! Woo! Rach and Mum and I are gonna go, see if Rach or I win anything for our TSBs we did this year:)

And I got extra shifts at work, so I'm gonna stop looking for a fourth job now. Working at the vet, babysitting, and working at the coffee shop is enough I think. Haha.

QTAC offerings for 2009 come out in three weeks. I'm nervous. I want to get into Photography so badly! I don't know what I'll do if I don't get in.. Like I've been accepted into Fine Arts at QUT already, so I can do that if I don't get into photography but gah. I dunno.

And I'm waiting on my uni marks. Still. Some of them I don't want back.
Gah.
Indecision.

Pretty sure I'm done blogging now I think.
Alot going on.
Things are good for once.
I like it.

The end.

p.s Hope you're happy now Sam. A non-TiLT blog. With photos. Long overdue but yeah. Oh wells.

TiLT - Week Two

Here's my TiLT for today -

I've tried to make it more specific to the past week..

Things I Love Thursday -

- Blankets - The book my Craig Thompson. Nothing beats his beautiful drawings and I'll never get sick of reading this book or any of his other ones! I randomly keep picking it up and just sitting there and looking at his illustrations. So wonderful.
Craig's website

- Perfume - I like smelling good, I like it even more when people notice that I smell especially good. Christina Aguilera! People complimented me on smelling good on saturday night.

- JULIA NUNES! My obsession of late. She's so adorable and talented and awesome. Her songs make me melt. Julia's Youtube and one of my fave videos "Maybe I will" It's stop motion! SO COOL.

- SUMMER! I can finally wear short shorts and singlets and thongs! Eg. what I'm wearing today. Brilliant.

- GILMORE GIRLS. I've loved it for years and will contine to. Lately Season 6 has been on Foxtel and it's so good. LUKE AND LORELAI FINALLY GET TOGETHER! YESSS! I want them all on DVD. There's a new episode every day on tv and I can't get enough of it.

- BLACKOUTS. While the blackout and crazy storm on the weekend did damage alot of homes, it simply left me at home in the dark, with nothing to do. So, for the first time in.. I don't know how long, I HAD A BATH. A BATH! With candles and even music from my laptop! Yess! Thankyou blackout for forcing me to have some me time!

- Puppies. We run puppy pre-school at work and I do puppy photo portraits! Love it! I set it up with a nice fabric backdrop and everything. The clients are so impressed :) Makes me feel good.

- REPEAT OFFENDER. Another long time love but man they just keep getting better and better. And they give me hugs which is lovely. :) Last saturday was wickeddd. Dude. Repeat Offender's Myspace!

- AWESOME FISH TANKS. Got one from Lifeline, barely used, bought it for $30, it's worth $100! Yeeeew! My new fish LOVE it. I set it up last night :)

- Being busy on weekends. It's great. Every weekend I've had something on and same goes for this weekend. Woo parties and gigs! Yeaah.

- And slightly lame but - MEETING HOT DOCTORS, NURSES AND LIFEGUARDS AT WORLD COPD DAY. I did some work for mum yesterday (she works for the Australian Lung Foundation) COPD is a lung disease, yesterday we had a big event for it and yeh. Got hassled by ALOT of old people but also got to meet a few really nice guys :P Hahahahahaaaaa.

- Finally! Trading clothes with people! A girl mum works with and I both cleaned out our wardrobes and gave each other clothes we didn't want anymore! Yeah free nice new work pants and nice new party dress! (There was a whole bag of stuff but I was good and gave the rest to Lifeline) Woo!

And some of my puppy portraits from this week -

The End!

TiLT

So, drawing more inspiration from www.galadarling.com, my friends and I have decided to start writing a list of things we love each thursday and emailing it to each other.
I decided to blog mine aswell just cos I feel like putting my TiLT list out there a bit.
The idea is that you write down things you love, thus making you appreciate things in your life and be positive about your life, even if things arn't going to well.
I'll do one of these each thursday for as long as I feel the need to.

Things I Love Thursday -

- My new bright purple nail polish from Kit
- Frankie magazine!
- The fact that I've planned and am going to THREE social events on saturday. Haha.
- Running into friends unexpectedly in the city and having a nice chat
- Pesto.
- Hanging with my friends from work outside of work. Hehe.
- Large vanilla lattes
- The sound and smell of rain
- My new colourful head scarf from Sportsgirl
- My two goldfish
- All my new cds of local Brissie bands!
- Good quality pencils
- Myspace. Cos it's so so so much more interesting and creative than Facebook.
- Recieving picture messages instead of texts from friends
- The fact that I'm going to the beach soon, with Jade.
- My Ipod which is still alive even though it's 3 years old and has been drowned twice
- My beautiful dogs who are always good for a cuddle.
- Picnics with wonderful friends where you eat lovely food and sit on the grass under a tree for hours.

The end.
Hope ya'll enjoyed it.
What would you write in your own TiLT ?
<3

p.s I'll write a proper non-TiLT blog soon Sam. I will.

I know this because Tyler knows this.

Hello blog readers (if there's any of you left?)
It's been a little while since I last blogged.
I'm just gonna ramble.
I don't care.

I've finished uni for the year.
Best feeling, finishing my assessment and being free to do as I please until the end of february. Doesn't get much sweeter than that.
Now I just gotta wait to get all my results back.
Some of them I don't want back. Oh well.
I finally finished my final sculpture for art too. Yayyy. you can see it hear. Six resin soaked t-shirts. Make of them what you will. They don't really have much meaing to me, just that I enjoyed making them and they're fun to stack.

After my last day of uni Rach and Jade came over.
We bleached Jd's hair and a bit more of mine.
I love bleach. Haha.

Getting back to uni - I applied for a Bachelor of Fine Arts at QUT Kelvin Grove for next year, and I got my acceptance letter in the mail the other day.
So, if my grades arn't good enough to get me into Photography I'll do Fine Art. Or maybe I'll do neither and just work full time for a year.
I don't really know.
I'll decide after I find out if I've gotten into photography or not.

Speaking of photography, my photos are in an exhibition right now at QACI. It opened last wednesday and a bunch of my close mates came to see my photos on display. It meant alot to me that they all came =] Twas goooood.

And I went to The Hive again on sunday. Gosh I love the Hive.
I took some nice snaps usuing Brett's nice digital SLR.
Gosh it was fun.
I'll buy my own SLR soooon. =]

I had Cal over last night.
I bleached the tips of his hair and some other little chunks here and there.
It looks good.
We stayed up late and watched Fight Club.
I'll never get sick of it.

I cleaned out my fish's bowl, it's sparkling clean.
Won't last long cos they mess it up but oh well.
I'll put them in their new tank as soon as I've got a nice filter for them. =]

In other news I got a second (or third if you count baby sitting) job - working for the lady I babysit for at her cafe/dessert catering business in Samford. Come visit me once I start doing regular shifts there and I'll make you coffee. Haha. =]

And uhhhh I'm spring cleaning my life slowly.
New job.
Uni applications.
Tidied out my room.
Sorted out my clothes.
New furniture.
Etc.
I'm getting there.
Slowly.

I don't know what else to write about.

OH! ANGELAS DISH!
They were one of the bands (along with Jake Wood and False Start) who played at The Hive on sunday.
I ADORE THEM.
I bought their album and got them to sign it and have had the cd on repeat in my cd player ever since =]
I LOVE AUSTRALIAN MUSIC.
Go check them out on myspace.

Anddd uhhh lots of events coming up.
House warmings.
Brithday parties.
Nights out with my mates.
Rock for Refugees.
Stuff the Stocking.
Various Hive gigs.
Sparkadia.
Sunset Sounds.
BDO.
Etc.

Ok I can't think of anything else constructive to write.
I'll stop now.
Did anyone pick up the Fight Club reference as the title of my blog?
Haha.

Hi Sam.
Hope you enjoyed my dull new blog.

Hello lovely RachelTwin. <3
Jack, I FREAKING MISS YOU.

I realised just the other day that I'm 19 in about 7 weeks.
Insane.
It's November?!
WHERE HAS THE YEAR GONE?!
It'll be 2009 soon as.
Freaky.

And uhh that's all for now.
I'm off to bed.
I'm working 10 hours tomorrow at the vet. Stocktake.
Oh yeaaaah.
I know you're jealous.
Lol.

Also, I realised the other day, I've never celebrated Halloween.

<3

p.s Rach and I are on the hunt for cutenicedatableboys. Let us know if you know anyone suitable.
Haha.
No really.

100 Ways To Be A Love Letter To The Universe.

I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again -
I adore Gala's blog.

Today, whilst procrastinating about my three remaining Uni assignments I found myself trawling through Gala's blogs.
I stumbled upon this one - 100 Ways To Be A Love Letter To The Universe. I adore everything about Gala's blog but given my current state of mind (which is not a very positive one) this particular post really enlightened me.
It's brilliant. Go and read it, do what Gala suggested and feel better about things.
I'm going to do the things she suggested, once Uni's over in 4 days time.

Another great post by Gala is A Reminder.

Gala's brilliant and gorgeous and feminine and wonderous.
Go and read her blogs and feel better about the world and youself.

In other news...
I feel pretty crap right now.
Wasted 3 and a half hours in the library at uni today trying to find relevant artists for my art essay which is due on wednesday... only to find nothing really useful at all.
Made me feel like shit to have spench so much time researching and get no useful results.

I finish uni on wednesday.
I cannot wait.

After I hand in my final assignments I'm going to the student photography exhibition at uni to see my work on display.
I'm looking forward to it.

Not much else is going on really.
Study study study.

I have to write a rhetorical analysis on one of Michelle Obama's presidential speeches. I do not care about America or the American presidential race and I really think the Strategic speech communication teachers could have chosen a more local topic for our essay, honestly!
There's a million and one AUSTRALIAN issues we could be writing about instead. But no, we have to write about Michelle Obama.
Americanised much?!
GAH!

I cannot wait for uni to be over so I can get on with other things.
I have a giant to do list of things I want to do over the summer holidays, I'm going to try my hardest to do everything on the list.
It's gonna be wonderful.

This is all I feel like blogging about for now.

I'm listening to Tegan and Sara. Pretty sure I know the words to every single on of their songs. Can't WAIT to see them at SUNSET SOUNDS in January!

I'm out.
The end.

Now hang me up to dry

You've rung me out too, too, too many times.
Adore that song.
Suites my mood lately too.
The caramel tart was dessert tonight. Aww yeah. It was so sweet I couldn't eat it all.

Hmm things have been crazeh lately.
Good, bad and otherwise.
Stressful.
Tiring.
Exciting.

I'm just gonna ramble for the most part.
I've got one week of Uni classes left.
I've got 5 assignments left to do. I'm free as of the 29th October and I cannot wait.
I need to start looking for a SECOND job. COZ I NEED MONEH! And cos I finish uni in like 2 weeks and I'll have alottt of spare time.

My photography's been chosen to be inlcuded in the QACI Student photography exhibit! I'm REALLY excited about that. See the flyer. It's in this blog. Come along and see my photography. It's free to get into the exhibit!
I bought Birds of Tokyo's first album - Day One. I adore it.

I also bought The Paper and The Plane's ep. Brilliant.
I got my tickets to Sunset Sounds from the post office the other day! Can't waaait.

Rachel and I had a rad weekend :)
We went to the Valley last night and saw The Gallant and RO. and had rad chats and beer with RO after they played. And we had fun hanging with Manda and co.RO are so brilliant and friendly and lovely.
Then we went to Common People at Rosies with Al. I was disappointed with the dj's choice of music. If I wanted to listen to 80's pop I could have stayed come and watched MAX on foxtel. Sigh.
It was a good night out though. Beer. Music. Good mates.
I could ramble on forever but I won't.
Rachel bleached some of my hair for me. A chunk of my fringe and a little piece at the back too. Love love love it. <3

I should be doing assignments right now.. or sleeping.I was really stressed on friday when I had two orals to do but I did one and it went well and then didn't end up doing the other one cos people volunteered to do theirs and so I'll do mine next class. It's about animal cruelty. I've got a tshirt with a quote on it, a powerpoint presentation and also a video to show. Woooo.
I'll be really stressed as soon as it kicks in I've got two assignments due this friday and then three due next week.. I've started three of them.
And I have NO ideas for my art prac assignment. And it's due in a week and a half. Sigh.
I'm really awesome at being stressed and procrastinating and leaving everything until the last possible minute. Yep.

I've had my nose pierced for a few months now and I reaaally wanna change it from a stud to a ring. It's annoying me cos I can't do it myself. Sigh.

I'm gonna dump a heap of photos into this blog. To compensate for my lack of words.
Yep.

I'm sick of trying to please everyone all the time.
Friends. Family. Uni tutors.
I can't be everything everyone wants me to be all at once. It just doens't work like that anymore.
I'm not perfect and I make mistakes and I don't intentionally hurt people.

And you know what else, so what if you don't like my sense of dress?! I know I'm not that stylish but who cares. I enjoy my comfy clothes and my cons. And yes I can see you when you stare at me. Dah.
End of rant.

Notice my freshly blonded chunk of fringe. Lol. I look so impressed.
Also! Random thought - There was lots of seedy guys out and about on saturday night in the city/valley/Holland park.
A seedy guy walked past Rachel and I in the city and was like: "Awwwww yeah ladies! I love my emo girrrrls!"
Ugh.
Another seedy drunk guy tried to chat us up at the bus stop, talking about how he hoped we were good girls and that we were going home to bed and that he also hoped we didn't need a smack on the bottom... etc. Weird.
And to top off saturday night some seedy drunk guy followed us home. Awww yeah. That was so fun.
Not.

I'm gonna go to bed now.
I'll write a proper informative blog later.
I'm stressed and tired.
Nite all.

Cold War Kids - "Hang me up to dry"

Careless in our summer clothes splashing around
in the muck and the mile

Fell asleep with stains
cake deep in the knees
What a pain

Now hang me up to dry
You wrung me out
too too too many times
Now hang me up to dry
I'm pearly like the whites
the whites of your eyes

All mixed up in the wash
hot water bleeding our colors
All mixed up in the wash
hot water bleeinding our colors

Now hang me up to dry
You wrung me out
too too too many times
Now hang me up to dry
I'm pearly like the white
the whites of your eyes

I'm with the band, ok?

Hullo blog readers!

So things have been very roller coaster-esk lately.
Chaos. Literally.
I'm just gonna list things as I think of them.
Loads of photos also.
Enjoy.

So uh.. Last Wednesday! Rach and I had a massive day of twin time, we shopped and ate and talked and listened to rad beats and played on the tire swing and Rachel made me a dress. She rocks. ILOVELUCY.
Then we went to Lexy's and had a sleepover and took polaroids with Lucy's new camera and stayed up late chatting about things and eating bad food. Goooood times.

Last thursday! Clubbing with Jd, Ben, Fish, Adam and his lady friend.. whose name escapes me right now. Started with a K. We got busted by the cops on the train because we were running late and jumped on the train without buying tickets. Jade and I got warnings. Mine's blue tacked on my desk. I have a go card now though, so it'll never happen again! Anyhow. It was a great night. Fridays! $3 entry and $3 drinks. I had about 12 drinks all up. And we did alot of dancing. Lots of boys asked me to dance bt I said no and dance with Jade instead cos I'm a wuss. It was a veryyyy good night out. Thankyou Jade <3

The next day involved a rather large hangover but I did come home and sleep it off and woke up feeling fine. I then went to see The Grates with Al and Claire and Simon that night. Very good sets from The John Steel Singers and The Grates, the other band not so much, and the crowd was SHITTY. Blonde drunk girls in party dressed and sweaty shirtless boys who only had eyes for Patience. Lots of pushing and shoving and yelling was had but the music was tops.

Saturday was 9 hours work then Rapid Festival. Lovely Jade got me free entry and backstage access. It WAS AWESOME. AND FREE FOR ME. I hung out with Manda and saw loads of local bands on the main stage and ignored the hardcore stuff and anything not melodic. Haha. I saw The Glass Ceiling, My Fiction, A Year to Remember, Avalon Drive.. etc
AND! BOM BOM BOM! I had a chat to Matt from RO about me getting access backstage for photography before he went on to play, and he's all like: "Yeah of course! You don't even need to ask! And if anyone asks you who you are, just tell them you're here with us." =] Killer.
And so I went beyond the barrier using my backstage pass and took photos of REPEAT OFFENDER while they played their awesome (but short.. like 25 mins) set.
It was the best experience. I felt so nervous but awesome at the same time.
I <3 RO. I <3 photography. All the photos in this blog are kinda pasted roughly to match what I'm writing about. All the RO photos are from Rapid. Etc.

SUNDAY was rad also, I did my first volunteer photography session at The Hive. Free entry for me and I got to take some rad photos (side stage/back stage.. which was sweet as) and generally had a good time watching the local acts (STEVE!) and running around taking photos, even though there would have only been about 20 people there. Good times. I LOVE YOU HIVE!

So that was the radcore end to my uni "break" week.
I also went to uni and soaked things in resin and did arty things and whatnot.
I need a new idea for my art final project cos my tutor thinks my idea "It' s interesting up to a certain point.. I suppose"

What else.. I bought a really neat fish tank with a light in it from lifeline for $30 and a chest of drawers for $20. I dyed my hair. Umm.
I got Josh Pyke's new album. I'm LOVING it to pieces! :) So wonderffful.
I applied for a Bachelor of Photography for 2009 at the Queensland College of Art. Dunno if I've blogged that before but oh wells.
I got new tires on my car. Go me. Car things are expensive, and I need to get the air con fixed and the temperature gauge and a few other things. Sigh.
And my car rego is due.
I'm not going to be buying anything else for a while.

AND! Now I'm back at uni and the chaos is taking over my lifeee. I've only got 2 weeks of classes left. I can't believe it's October all readdddy.
I have 5 assignments left and then I'm done for the year.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SUMMER AND ALL THE UPCOMING CONCERTS I HAVE TICKETS TO.
BDO! SOMETHING WITH NUMBERS! SUNSET SOUNDS! ROCK FOR REFUGEES! And others. You know how it goes.

As well as physically doing a million things I've also been thinking about the relationships in my life a bit recently.
Mum always says a person comes into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime...
In the past week or two I've come to figure out which of the people I know fit best into each category.. As weird as it sounds, it's true. Think about it.

Also, I over analyse everything.
I'm starting to slowly, very slowly, get over that.
I'm starting to not worry about trying to please everyone all the time. It never works and people usually just end up walking all over me for it.
I need a break sometimes. I need to get out of my head for a while I think.
I also need to focus on things and make some things better.
And I'm totally over people acting like they're still in high school. Totally over having people in my life who don't treat me right.

And even though I've applied for Photography I'm still not 100% sure of what I want. I want to take a gap year and go overseas. I want to take a year off and work full time. I want to do Vet Nursing at TAFE. I want to do Photography at Uni. I also want to do Visual Art at Uni. I want to do all of those things but obviously can't.
Indecision.
There's a million other things I could write about but I won't.
I don't want to make this blog too epic.
I get carried away.
I think I'm done for now.

Thunderbirds are go.

The second last picture in my blog is my legs. On the tire swing at Rachel's house. She took the photo. I like it. And the final picture is me being a dork and displaying my new hair colour and my work uniform which is oh-so-sexxxxxy. Yep.

p.s I miss Jack. Alot. And I love Jd and Lucy and Lexy and Alison and all my other mates, they should know who they are.
Hi Sam.

p.p.s Go to http://galadarling.com - She's amazing. Rachel showed me her site. I adore it.

Realisations and revelations.

That's a picutre I took in Melbourne. I love it haha.

I've been out of high school almost an entire year now and I'm starting to realise some things.
I feel I've changed a bit and definately grown up a bit.
And yet I look at some (some, not all...) of the people I went to school with, and they havn't changed a single bit. Immature. Selfish. Obsessed with trivial things. Gossip.

I've come to realise that you don't have to be extremely happy with everything to have a good life.
You just have to be at one with yourself.
My life is (contrary to what some people belive) not perfect, not at all, not even one tiny bit. There's alot of things I want, alot of things I wish were different. But, that's me, and I'm not going to be constantly down about the fact that my life isn't always how I want it to be.

We spent a very long time talking about all this in one of my tuts at uni on friday and it really got me thinking. All about how you don't need to be positively beaming and happy and excited all the time to have a good life. It's more important to be at one with yourself, and be able to say "It's ok that I'm sad/mad/angry/tired, and just becuase I feel sad/mad/angry/tired doesn't mean I don't have a good life."
Does that make sense? It does to me. That's all that matters.

As per always, my head's so full of thoughts I feel like I could explode, and now more than ever. It's hard to describe. So many thoughts, so so so many conflicting thoughts.
I should be at uni doing my art assignments right now. But I'm sitting here blogging. I feel like I have to or my brain will explode.

I totally hated myself on friday. And lately in general. I won't go into it but, I've come to realise there's no point to it. No point at all.

I'm sick of being involved in everything.
I'm sick of caring about things/trivial issues/people that don't effect me.
I'm sure as hell sick of having people in my life who don't treat me or my friends well.
I'm sick of trying to please everyone.
I want my life to be easier to live.
I'm so over people I know from school being selfish and fake all the time. Not everyone but just a few, not naming names either. Just people in general.
And they're so fake and they seem happy all the time, but then you see them doing selfish or immature things and you know they're only doing it because they're not at one with themselves, they're empty or shallow or lacking something. Probably love.

People don't realise cos I don't mention it but I have alot going on all the time and always have something on my mind. I have alot of self-related issues and I'm sick of not being happy with my life.
I need change.
I want to be at one with myself and ok with the fact that I am who I am.
It's hard to do.

I'm starting to feel at one with myself and that doesn't mean I'm extatically happy about everything.
Things arn't perfect and I'm slowly realising that that's fine.

AND I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE READING THIS BLOG AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M RAMBLING ON ABOUT. I NEED TO BLOG SO I'M BLOGGING. IT'S MY BLOG AND I'LL WRITE WHAT I WANT. So there.
The end of that.

In other news -
The rest of this week WILL BE AWESOME.
Clubbing with Jade thursday night. The Grates concert friday night.
Clubbing with Rachel and Darc saturday night.
PHOTOGRAPHY AT THE HIVE ON SUNDAY.
I'm gonna dye my hair tomorrow. Or tonight.
I'm gonna go get dressed and go to Rachel's now. We're gonna have a rad day.
Yay yay yay.

Also hello to anyone reading this. You probably think I'm insane now but whatever. Haha.
Hullo Matt. =]
Hullo Rachel! ILOVEYOU.
Hullo Sammy Bear.
Hullo Lexy. Imissyou <3

Also, HULLO OCTOBER! where has the year gone ?
Uggh this post'll say I posted it not today, cos I started writing this a few days ago and only just finished it.
It's wednesday october 1st. Yup.

The end.

"Broken bones" - Birds of Tokyo
It's kinda how I feel sometimes...

Salute the army at hells hand,
Salute the reasons why.

My conscience it wades me,
With five-a-side,
I'll never get out,
I'll never make my stand.

And when I awake,
I'm not about to listen to them,
For I can't wait,
It's not about me.

Stare down the longest line,
Of course this is falling apart,
You fooled me like a rat trap baited,
But I, refuse to buy.

I'm shell-shocked and I've lost my sight.
But I can still hear you calling me.

And when I awake,
I'm not about to listen to them,
For I can't wait,
I'm not about to listen to...
I'm on a highway that leads to the end,
I'm on a highway that leads to the end,
I'm on a highway that leads to the end,
I'm on a highway that leads to...

These broken bones,
This busted smile,
My head it hurts,
I should be leaving now,
I hear your words,
They call my name,
I won't go back,
You must be outta your head.

You say I'm wrong,
You say I'm mad,
If I stay here,
I'll never make it back,
I hear your words,
They call my name,
I won't go back,
You must be outta your head,
You must be outta your head.

No one mourns the wicked.

So, Lex and I and our mums went to Melbourne.
18th - 22nd September.
It was WICKEDLY WONDERFUL AND FANTASTIC.
We went shopping one day for 9 HOURS STRAIGHT. 9 WHOLE HOURS. IT WAS GREAT AND NOW I'M REALLY REALLY POOR. Haha!
And we went to the Queen Victoria Markets and the Shouthbank markets AND LEX AND I WENT TO THE AQUARIUM AND IT WAS RAD. The fishes go gloop. Had to be there haha.
Lex and I hit up Fitzroy and Brunswick Street. Melbourne has a Brunswick Street! So GOOD AND EVERY SHOP WAS SO SO SO INDIE AND LOCAL AND HANDMADE.
And we went to this fantastic exotic pet shop near the Queen Victoria markets. They had everything from turtles to snakes to spiders and fish AND EVEN ... SUGAR GLIDERS! The store was amazing buuuut I'm pretty sure selling sugar gliders as pets is pretty illegal.

WICKED. We went and saw Wicked and it was PHENOMINAL. We were in the fifth row and it was just amazing. The acting, singing, dancing, costumes, set and not to mention the music, provided by a live band who were sitting under the stage! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND FANTASTIC.
And aww man, the actors and actresses voices were BRILLIANT. Millsy was fantastic and totally swoon-worthy. Hahaha! =]

We ate at some cool places and had so much coffee and tea and wine and chocolate and pasta. Haha!
And our hotel was nice. Mum and I stayed there last year so that was good.
AND AWW MAN I LOVE THE TRAMS. I wish Brisbane had trams, so easy to catch and they get you everywhere you need to be.
I'll chuck in a few photos too. I took about 500 in the time we were there haha.
I love taking photos.

And I bought so many new clothes and a bag, a scarf and TWO PAIRS OF CHUCKS.

So yes.
Melbourne and Wicked were grrrrrreat.
I could go on and on forever.
But I won't.
So many memories. So many awesome things in Melbourne. I've been twice now, I want to go back there every year.
It's such a great place.
